Here’s how you can add starlights to your classroom or children’s center

StarEFX™ starlights introduce subtle and colourful lights into an area without the glare that conventional indoor lighting provides.

It operates complementary to existing lights providing children, staff, and parents a visual, fun way for engagement, relaxation, and children’s napping time.

The lighting system uses acoustic panels or printed lining with fiber optic star points resembling the night sky.

The stars can be interactive through colour changes, they can twinkle or be animated, with shooting star animations that add an unexpected little surprise to the observer.

In addition, the sensory panels hold acoustic properties for sound absorption, creating a relaxing environment perfect for any classroom.

StarEFX™ starlights can be used on ceilings or walls. StarEFX™ ceilings are most commonly used in nurseries or naptime rooms as they create a calming atmosphere that can put anyone at ease. Children will fall asleep watching the stars twinkle and shoot across the sky. A relaxing and engaging way to let their imagination go wild before dreaming.

How StarEFX™ Starlights Work

The starlight system uses an illuminator to project light through a network of fibre optic cables attached to acoustic panels. Each panel emits an array of starry lights controlled by a wireless remote for colour changing and star-twinkling effects.

The star endpoints can be placed randomly in a night sky design which can include animated starlights. For example, shooting stars and meteorites that go across the panels at random times.

The StarEFX™ system operates complementary with existing lighting and can also integrate with light control automation systems. This integration provides further lighting options from its standalone mode by automating lighting functions throughout the day and night.

Safe to install, touch and see!

Fibre cables are made from Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) thermoplastic and do not transmit heat or electricity as the cables will only carry light from the projector.

Fibre cables or the starlights are safe to touch and play with as there is no risk of burn, or electric shock. Because of this, they are perfectly safe for children to interact with.

Our sensory light fibre cables emit a low glare light to reduce the risk of any eye damage while also having no UV rays transporting through the fibre cables.

StarEFX™ wall and ceiling panels comply to building flame retardancy required in childcare/early learning centres.

Features

Starlights can be controlled to create the perfect mood for the room every time. These settings include:

The starlights are placed in acoustic panels that help with sound absorption and work great in rooms that require soundproofing to create a relaxing environment.

Operation

There are two options available to control the StarEFX™ starlights. The starlights are operated by the RF wireless remote, which provides a selection of pre-programmed settings of colour changes, dimming, twinkle speeds, and more for the user to choose from.

For a more customized lighting solution to control the lighting via an app then the StarEFX™ Starlights can be connected to the Philips iPlayer3. This will provide full control via the app with pre-programmed settings or tailored lighting sequences to the owner's liking.
