LightEFX works with architects, engineers and construction companies to develop solutions for commercial lighting. Our lighting solutions are designed to meet regulations, needs for energy-efficient lighting systems or to provide amazing lighting features. Our process consists of either or all of the following; consultation, design, data analysis, and installation.
Daylighting, LED and fiber optic lighting, all three technologies play an important role; Sunlight meeting daylight regulations with 100 CRI natural color temperature, LED meeting artificial AS1680 lighting regulations and fiber optic lighting for feature and ambient lighting. When combined, the correct lighting will provide a more welcoming and friendly environment while enhancing visual aesthetics.
Correct commercial lighting adds to the safety and security of an area. Dark spots, brightness, and lighting color temperature play an essential role in preventing accidents and promoting a sense of security.
Fiber optic lighting provides various options for architectural and lighting designers for both indoor and outdoor uses. Fiber optic cables are less maintenance, have an easy installation process, and have a low risk of failure.
When designed correctly, fiber optic lighting has low energy consumption lighting up to 30 path fittings with a single 15-watt illuminator. LightEFX utilizes high-spec fiber optics and patented technology to process side-emitting fiber cables maximizing their brightness and increased life longevity. As there is no electricity in the fiber cable, there is no requirement for power supplies; it is simply a light conductor transmitting light from the illuminator.
The biological processes that regulate our sleep-wake cycle make up is the circadian system. Without exposure to sunlight, our circadian system cannot regulate our patterns of alertness and sleepiness. Therefore, lack of exposure to normal 24-hour light-dark cycles, a person's sleep-wake cycle can stray by as much as two hours per day, leading to illness associated with disease and other poor health issues.
Delivering full-spectrum, glare-free sunlight into multi-level buildings can be achieved without significantly altering a building's design. LightEFX can alleviate over-shadowing from existing buildings and deliver sunlight as far down to ground level and even outside into grey areas. Convert unused spaces into usable areas and even create green environments for plant growth.
Maintaining a direct line of sight to the sun, sunlight is concentrated into a collimated beam and delivered through a cavity space or light-well. The sunlight is redirected via mirrors, diffuser tubes, fiber optics, or lenses into the desired environment.
LightEFX's daylighting system can be integrated with artificial lighting as a hybrid system providing energy benefits by displacing artificial lighting whenever the sun shines. This integration allows architects and lighting designers opportunities to introduce daylight for daylighting compliance.
Based on the Australian daylighting design requirement of 10,000 lux, the SunBeamer's output is 6,000 lux 1 meter underneath the SunBeamer with a concentrated beam of 500mm. In an Australian summer with 100,000 lux, the SunBeamer's output is at 45,000 lux 1 meter underneath the SunBeamer in a 500mm diameter beam. Provided the SunBeamer has a direct line of sight to the sun, enough sunlight can be brought into the area for daylighting requirements.
