The panels have a construction consisting of two layers, with a backing layer made of sound-absorbing polyester and a top layer featuring veneered lamella strips on an MDF board. This unique construction gives the panels their distinctive appearance and texture, making them perfect for creating an eye-catching feature wall or acoustic panelling to reduce noise.

The panels, sized at 2700x600x21mm (106.30"L x 23.62"W x 0.83"H), boast a Class A fire rating certification (ASTM E84-16), ensuring safety and compliance. For installation, the StarEFX slat panels are mounted onto batons. This approach, required for the StarEFX slats, ensures optimal sound management and durability. Direct wall installation is suitable for the standard acoustic slat panels.

Installation

• Decide on installation method: direct installation onto wall or battens
• If installing directly onto the wall, use screws and anchors
• If installing onto a frame, attach panels directly to battens with screws through acoustic felt
• Cut slat panels using a fine-toothed saw and sand edges with fine-grained sandpaper
• Apply a protective finish such as wood oil for added protection and easy maintenance
• Screw fixing is recommended at 80mm intervals across the width and 450mm intervals down the length of the panel
• If installing into ceilings, make sure to screw into ceiling joists
• Use correct anchors/screws when installing into plasterboard.
