LightEFX’s sensory lighting introduces subtle and colorful lights into an area without the glare that conventional indoor lighting provides. Our sensory lighting is designed to be interactive and create an enjoyable experience for patients during wait times or while undergoing treatments.
Sensory lighting can be used to create a calming atmosphere for patients and staff. With our StarEFX ceiling lights, a ceiling can be lit up with an array of color-changing, twinkling stars. Patients can look up to the ceiling and get lost in their thoughts while watching the stars shimmer and change color.
Not only can the stars shimmer, but they can also be animated. Patients can gaze up at the ceiling and watch stars and meteorites shoot across the ceiling, a great distraction to keep them calm and focused.
The StarEFX starlight system uses panels with acoustic properties for sound absorption, helping to keep sound levels low for staff and nervous patients.
LightEFX specializes in fiber optic lighting. Fiber optic lighting uses an LED illuminator to transmit light through fiber optic cables into multiple locations.
Fiber optic cables only transmit light and do not transmit electricity, as all electrical components are in the illuminator. This means the cables are cold to the touch and can be used in rooms with MRI imaging equipment.
Fiber optic sensory lighting can be applied almost anywhere, but most healthcare facilities prefer to use our sensory lighting systems in deceleration rooms, for staff during night-time hours of work, sensory rooms, and imaging rooms. In these areas, interactive lighting is used as an agent to calm the room’s occupants' senses.
For example, Our StarEFX Starlights were installed above the bed in an imaging room at a healthcare facility in Melbourne. As patients can be nervous and fidgety, the starlights are not only used to create a calming atmosphere, but patients feel more at ease having to stay still as they have an interactive light show serving as a distraction. Due to this lighting solution, patients and staff have a more positive visit, as the room and experience is no longer stressful.
Our sensory starlights can be controlled by a wireless remote or integrated into automated lighting systems.
Our standard starlights are color-changing, and users can customize the stars to be a single color or go through a color-changing sequence. In addition, the starlights have dimming abilities as well as twinkling star effects.
Starlights can also be animated with shooting stars, meteorites, and zodiac signs, along with custom animations as per request.
LightEFX's fiber optic technology used in our sensory lighting products are isolated. In other words, fiber optic cables carry no electricity or heat, which makes them safe for users to touch and feel, as well as safe for use in rooms where MRI imaging equipment is present.
Fiber optic cables emit a low glare light and do not have UV rays transporting through the fiber cables.
Fiber optic lighting has minimal maintenance and is more cost-effective than other types of conventional interactive and programable lighting.
