LightEFX Pool Strip Lighting Kit with a side-emitting fiber cable is chlorine resistant and safe for swimming pools, spas, saunas, and steam rooms since no heat or electricity is present in the fiber cable. This also eliminates the need to replace or maintain globes or LEDs. The fiber cable is also UV-resistant, chlorine-proof, and salt-resistant, so once it has been installed, it will not corrode.<\/span><\/p>\n

The IP43 rated illuminator is of stainless steel 304 construction typically stored in the pool pump room, alternatively can be installed in outdoor environments or a pit with ventilation. A 100-watt LED light source with an approx. 40,000-hour life span delivers the light to the side-emitting fiber cable.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are six colors that cycle through the illuminator unit, or a color can be selected to set the desired mood. By default, the illuminator is controlled by a wireless remote. The optional DMX interface enables integration with home automation systems such as Dynalite, CBUS, Control4, and other serial and RS232 protocols with the DMX module purchased separately.<\/span><\/p>\n

To house the fiber cable, clear tracking is installed either on the wall of the pool or underneath the coping. For a discrete appearance, it is preferable if the overhang of the coping is not less than 35mm (1.37″). Once the tracking is fixed to the pool the fiber optic cable is simply inserted into the tracking, with both ends of the cable looping back to the illuminator.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is fiber optic pool strip lighting submersible?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The fiber optic side-emitting cables used in our pool strip lighting kit can be submerged in water partially or completely without having to worry about issues associated with pool heating or the depth of installation. Unlike LED strip lighting, fiber optic side-emitting cables can be installed in depths greater than 1.5m (5ft) and continue to work regardless if the pool is heated or not. As the electronics is in the illuminator and not in the fiber cable.<\/span><\/p>\n
